Question about Fusion Anvils

So... from what I know, fusion anvils let you transfer item equip appearances from one to another. What I want to know is...

say if you got an NX cover for a top equip and you have a regular top equip. Can you fuse their appearances? As in, can a regular top become an NX cover via anvil and can an NX cover become a regular top? Just wanna know before I waste my money (not that I haven't enough already on making my bunch of pixels look good but whatever)

    No, you can only fuse in-game equipment.
