They do. They also employ a filter that rejects users spamming the exact same message repeatedly. Hence you can see normal users spamming "B>Items@@@@@" followed by "B>Items@@@@"
This is why bots took to replacing letters, namely "C" with a "K", and using "(dot)" instead of a period, and later adopted different URLs entirely.

Filters are typically easy to bypass if you're focused enough on bypassing it. For example, a manga website I browse censors "Tomo" (long story). "To mo" or "T o m o" bypasses the censor, as would "To.mo" or "To|mo" or other basic combinations. But the more they censor means the less people can say, which is also something you have to watch out for.

Yeah, That is ofcourse also the case.

But just the URLs then. Or ask how EMS did it because they pretty much got rid of them all.

Most users suggest that the reason EMS had less spam bots was the fact that it had such a small population, it wasn't appealing to meso sellers. Additionally, NX trading was accepted (it isn't here, for now) and some players claim GMs were more active.

There were in 2011 the same as in Luna now. But when the "new" GM's came and they wanted to work at the game quality. And they were very active. Maybe can @Okhura tell about it.

We have named and shamed lists on the old EMS forums showing how many were banned each week.

There were less sites advertising back then but GMs took care of them on a pretty regular basis.

There are a couple reasons, we had less spam bots before migration than we currently have. Which was not cause it was less appealing. Some reasons are as followed:
    1. GMs banned hackers, botters and advertisers on a daily basis
    2. During 2x exp/drop events, there was always a GM online
    3. More effective NGS system (xigncodex3)
