Pet purchase causes unplayable lag.

Immediately following the purchase of a pet (Sun Wu Kong) I started experiencing lag. Before Sun Wu Kong I was using snails and experienced no lag; unless my snail was picking up large quantities of items (expected lag for that). Sun Wu Kong has been given auto move, expanded auto move, and auto feed. Since purchasing Sun Wu Kong I experience lag every time I attack not just when it is picking up items. This has made the game pretty much unplayable and thus a waste of NX. What can be done to fix this issue?
