What happened to 2x events?

The last 2x event was exactly 2 months ago, and with the anniversary events no 2x weekend was announced. I remember back in EMS days, we had a 2x event nearly every 2nd week, but at least 1/month, but now no signs of 2x. Is there a particular reason behind this? Is it an influence from KMS or the decision of GMS?
I know there will be a mega burning event, but that's only 1 character/world, and it's for new characters, so high level players don't get a nice boost.

    I made a thread about this, and people thought we could have one for this weekend. I also miss the 2x weekends :(
