Hello!

From me a very old player - i joined when bellocan the sixth server was released-It was Halloween time as well! it's been a long journey with ups and downs, certainly the good times made it up for the meh ones.

In the latest letter to us it felt part part sad maybe let me remind you , maplestory faced huge challenges
from server limitation issues having max players,,,,,,,,,ddos hack issue , back in 2010 or 20011,,,, change of game guard ,,, and plenty more of update issues,,,,,change and departure of Game managers and plenty more.


Let me remind you of the good part- Happy times with GM events, huge comeback whenever a holiday event or anniversary is here, , very very nice party play in training- bossing.


Right now having helpful live chat Gms and customer support fast reply with update that's what keep the pulse live and alive from our hearts to yours.

we know that we are talking to people like us not machines . personally i appreciate it and i cannot imagine the amount of effort needed to keep up with every single one of us


Thank you for this beautiful and the most successful 2d MMO RPG game ever. so please lets work together to keep it rising and getting better.


mhm if you ask me how can we get satisfying feed back like the old times ( you cant have the cake and eat it all still XD )

the answer is it's simple 1- content change 2-job-party balance.


1- for content change :

A- keep unique and matchless contests like Singapore it was the only content that gives emblem with potential....starworld was a cool place to hang out!


keep adding more rather taking some away - enhance the current ones and make events for them too! ( example pq-commerci voyage - corssworld pq counter events that gives super rewards ) people would turn back to party play more!








B- Lets have weekend- weekly 2x events like the old times.

C-Event design it's the time when we players have fun annd start working on our items!!! i

****attendance big ones are nice but we need more smaller ones ---

*****Event shops, their items need to be updated- to have meister cubes- flames- luckyday and shielding scrolls --- coins are hard to get now, why cant they be easy to get? we got a character limit already


D-change for gatchapon and miracle machine;

remove all the unwanted items, like lion-heart items-VIP-sunrise set- and -30-90 days coupons





E- VERY IMportant here : make the maps smaller in general with higher spawn rate- & add more movement portals 6- (2 right-2 middle- 2 left).for miracle machine especially add arcane items since they are game-end now.

2-Job & Party balance

A_job balance.


keep buffing and making jobs and classes stronger, rather nerfing. firstly the current game has very diverse contents and stronger mobs and bosses.

some hackers abused that class? simply make the other rest of classes stronger too!.

Hackers can vacuum mobs increase their spawn rate , vacuum the drops, be invincible , Dont you remeber wildhunter hack issue? it started to get worse from since then.


For kanna issue espcially if you are gonna remove kishin then remove Frenzy totem at once or this game will be full of monopoly.
for haku buff, it's the same of wildhunter's * skill call of the wild * and it's way worse even since it's automatic.

some classes like Mihile corsair mechanic phantom shade they need to be a little more stable ( more hp defense invincibility )


B-party balance

in OLD times s, classes used to be strong and having it would benefit the party hugely.... having an archer=having critical damage- having a dark knight having high hp - having a paladin means having strong defense .

party quests used to give the best exp and very nice items ( Dojo belts broken glasses-minerva gloves-Michael glasses were so hard to get and so wanted! )and pq gears!





what can we do now? we can do a lot!

1- make party quest entries limitless- make their exp better with higher number of players- add more rewards to them (with less shards)

2-make a benefit from every party member -each one added=more exp 20%- and chosen buff, ( the buff =more hp- critical damage or rate- more defense )

3-having 5 different classes at once or 3 of the same job would give a huge boost to their skills ( they choose which skill to boost)

4-to keep the party more balanced , add a function for leaders to disable shared drops or exp whenever they feel that someone is being super lazy.

I keep looking for old maplestory because back in time we players wouldnt worry about getting stronger because it was possible by time , the servers were good allowing huge players to be in the same map. the evens were so great and worth waiting for .

We do have great contents and events but looking for them to be dazzling and wanted and rather be more accessible.

    Such a long post! Very nice!
    I don't personally agree with a lot of the changes you suggest, so I won't comment on some of this.

    Party quests are a good way to get people to play together, and if they're all pre-200, why limit them at all?
    It's incredibly easy for players to hit 200, however it can be annoying setting up a legion.
    Being able to create party-quest teams that you can quickly grind up a legion with would be nice.
    I'd support a limitless PQ entry.

    I think the current EXP bonus system for parties is fine, what is not so fine is map selection for larger parties and runes not sharing or being instanced.
    The fact that there is a 100% EXP bonus for several minutes, only available every 15 minutes, for only one player, is a bit anti-party.
    If we could get runes to give the whole party the EXP buff portion of the rune (It is a separate buff), I think this would fix the issues with runes.
    I think runes are what need to be changed, not party EXP buffs or rates.

    I agree. If Kishin is about to be nerfed, that will create a horrible situation in the economy, where an elite that holds the rarest and most expensive item in MS will rule the economy and getting richer and richer as the days pass, while the majority of the players will get more poor. That's gonna KILL the economy and even the whole game.
    And I'm not talking about Reboot - this world is going to be so dead if Kishin is going to be removed or nerfed, GMS Reboot is going to be even more dead than KMS Reboot 1+2 where both worlds are been dead for a long time.

    The current Party Quests are a waste of time nowadays, because leveling to 200 is much much easier that it used to be 10 years ago. However Party Play areas (like in good old LHC) isn't a bad idea at all, as level 275 comes (and the insane EXP curve) my suggestion is to turn the whole Tenebris into a Party Play area where you get additional EXP for each party member!

    the easy you are talking about is having all to of these together ((hs-2x card-winter buff-frenzy totem- fire starter ) and it's solo training

    For all the lvls now even past lvl 200 it's solo work... and sad somehow people dont gather as much like before. (either for training maps or pqs)

    Level 200 does not take months. You can easily hit level 200 on a completely clean account within a month, casually, without exp coupons.
    "Casually" imo is 2-4 hours a day. Which is pretty casual for an MMO, which are massive time sinks.

    I should mention I play Reboot, which has increased base EXP. Regular server results may vary.

    non-reboot servers have another story they are 200% harder than reboot . with only the benefit of having trade system that's all.

    There are a few other non-reboot things that you guys get, such as BPot and Scrolls. But yeah, as far as EXP rates go, Reboot has it easy.
    I think the developers wanted it to be harder, but the differences between KMS and GMS just ended up making it too easy.
    At least imo.

    yea that super fancy way like i said is (nx 2x card-2x card-hs-frenzy totem- ) plus master lvl of legion plus 20% exp boost are used too to .

    99%% of players would just go the hard way . its possible but not available to me all of us.

    no way xD..... from 1- to 200 in 2 days? without theses ? that's a dream.

    anyways lvl doesnt matter now , the range and strength needed to be an average player is hard 2 reach now.

    Most people can only play a few hours each day. Hitting 200 in 2 days is a bit much for people who have a job, family and other things they wish to do besides Maplestory.
    If you can do it, power to you. But you have to understand it's not the norm.

    why cant we have smaller maps and smaller spawn time of mobs as well? that would help achieving smoother game play in all areas and pqs.

    probably because it overloads the buffer and induces lag

    It's easy to demand unique content but realize the situation in GMS at the moment and how they likely don't have the resources to make exclusive content any more and certainly without the game breaking on top of content from other regions being piled up (TMS, JMS and KMS). Streamlining the game is the only viable solution at this point, unique content is something we'll likely never see again.

    There will always be bad rewards in a gambling system, its there to lure you into spending more. Walk to any casino and you'll notice the same thing.

    Nexon nerfs classes/skills they deem to be overpowered. It's part of balance, you cannot simply keep buffing everyone and expect it to work out perfectly. And you shouldn't expect utility classes like Bishop and Kanna to have the same damage capabilities as classes like NL and Hero.

    They aren't going to remove Frenzy, it is just too much of a selling point for them plus removing items is just a bad solution. The best they could do is make it more common but then that wouldn't solve the lag that nexon is claiming to be a problem, it would make it worse.

    Mihile, mechanic and shade are already strong enough. Especially shade, that character is unkillable in a boss situation.

    That still is the case somewhat, these classes do have strong party buffs but we do not have the expedition system any more and are limited with 6 people in a party. This severely limits the amount of support classes required to down hard bosses.

    I prefer party play more than PQ. Certain PQs were fun but most of them were largely repetitive and are no different than todays 'daily' quests.

    Old maple had a plethora of problems and players were definitely worried about getting stronger (remember the scrolled BWGs, the PACs and wide range of dexless items?)

    yes it's been years and it's not fair . that's why i suggest we bring it back Current 2x events are so scarce they come with holidays .

    mihle is the worst warrior class, very low defense, and weaker skills .i have lvl 200 one. i regret lvling it. palladins-even dw are better,

    shade is abit weak also compared to other pirates in mobbing but agree for boss part.

    phantom is super squishy. can get instant kill from body touch of bosses like magnus. not even 2 hits just once.

    yes we need expeditions to be back! BUT fix the servers as well. since bosses like ursus has lag fest.

    there was both sides, solo and party. sometimes you needed to be skilled with controls and techniques of the boss that's all. it would take so long but it's doable.

    For the present time the party now wont help you much with bossing unless they are super funded.

    totally i agree with you , we have plenty of pqs that are deserted now. we could choose from them instead of doing only 1 repetitively .

    yea we have always had funding problems. but it was not that bad like now , the prices were not so crazy as they are right now. and the enhancement costs as well ( we need billions for just 1 item to be in average of 12 stars-unique and fullly scrolled) .

    smaller maps= less mobs count as well.

    a map in ludibrium is way laggy than a map in kerning - leafre -arcane river's vanquishing journy maps etc
