I haven't been able to play this game since 2013. I'm so excited that I finally got ahold of my account that I'm literally crying. I tried to log on a little while ago and of course a lot has happened in six years. I don't know where to begin. What should I do? My screen froze the first time because of all the pop-ups with important messages and patches etc of the last six years. I am a level 180 icelightning archmage. Is there a new job? Is it easier to level now? When I last played 200 was max.

Cheers,
David!

Lots of new jobs since 2013. Just google and take a look yourself. (Might event find yourself a new main)...

I actually used to play I/L for a pretty long time. Got it to 220level but then decided to ditch it, switched to Demon Slayer, couldn't be any happier.
I used to love my I/L. Very good mobbing skills, lots of ultimates/hyper skills but to be honest old explorers just fade away compared to new/newer classes...(It's just my opinion on this class, so don't take it for granted. I'm sure there are people who end-game this class with godly funding, etc... Hell, you can be as godly as you want with every class with godly funding...)

It's much easier to level nowadays. You got some decent quest lines on early game levels, you got burning fields, you got SF dungeons (Star Force maps in which you're required to have certain amount of Star Force (in other words stars/enhancement on your items...) to deal decent amount of damage to monsters, but EXP rates at those maps are also very high...)

There are better alternatives to AyumiLove. I don't know why people keep suggesting this person as a good source of information.
Some of the info there is just flat out wrong. Not to mention they've had problems with some potentially virus-tier ads.
If you're going to brave that website, do some extra research outside of it and only go in with adblock.

    Edit: Some Alternatives

AyumiLove's skill build guides are most of the time perfectly usable in my opinion, at least while levelling a new character. However, you are absolutely right about the ad issue. Even with ad block, there can sometimes be weird pop-under ads, so adding the site to your browser's JavaScript blacklist is recommended. If you are using Google Chrome the blacklisting can be done from chrome://settings/content/javascript. However, if you find another site with as complete skill build information, I'd recommend using that instead.

I can also vouch for the usefulness of Strategywiki and Dexless. Strategywiki has pretty much all formulas you could ever need along with very good info on potentials and inner abilities. While Dexless only has a handful of guides, most of what I've read there are top-notch.

Dexless would be a lot more if it wasn't named some stupid pre-bb memebuild or if zelkova had launched it with, y'know, actual content in place instead of throwing it out there with absolute bupkis and assuming it would take off exactly like his ms2-oriented site did.

The guides are nice for new characters, sure. The only time I'd use it is to make sure it's not one of those characters that doesn't get enough SP to max all pre-4th job skills.
Other than that, due to the scummy ad practice, I'd avoid like the plague.

One source I like to send new people to is KyoWantsCute's "So you wanna be a class" series.
He rambles on sometimes due to not having a script in advance, but he covers all the skills (usually) and also tries to explain any class mechanics to the best of his ability.

The videos can run a bit long, so I'd only watch them if you're unsure on a class.
