Freezing when logging out and exiting game

I've had this issue where my game freezes for about 3min before logging out my character when I select Quit Game. The same happens when I click the X at the top right in windowed mode and close the game that way. It first started around Jan/Feb but I think it got fixed after I redownloaded or patched the game right after v.183. Now I'm experiencing the same problem again - which started a few days ago - and I have no idea what it is or how it's being caused. I use 2 laptops and this does not happen on my 6-7yr old windows 7 one. I only experience the freeze on my windows 10 laptop (which runs maple in windows 7 compatibility mode). It happens on all characters and across all the worlds I play in. Restarting my laptop doesn't help.

Another odd thing that I've been experiencing (since Feb 10) is that upon logging in each time I start the game from the launcher, my resolution changes but remains on a black screen. I play in 1366x768 so that's what it enlarges to after putting in my pin. My character is flat on the ground and others can see me ingame, but I can't do anything until I alt +enter into fullscreen. I've left my game on for an hour before and this does not fix unless changing to fullscreen. After that I can change in and out of windowed mode normally. This does not happen on my old laptop.

These problems are becoming rather frustrating as I want to change characters frequently but can't because I'm made to sit through this freeze. The only way I can get back to my desktop is by ctrl + alt + del and switching user back to the one I'm on. Would anyone have a solution or can enlighten me on why this is happening? And does anyone else experience the same problems?

    It sounds like it might be a graphics driver issue. Make sure you have the newest driver version?

    Ok, I finally got my dad to help me update my graphics driver but I'm still experiencing the same problem. Maple just freezes for a few minutes before logging out to the world selection. =/ The only thing which seems to have gotten fixed is the black screen in windowed mode.
