I thought it was impossible to purchase anything after max mesos without clearing out the shop so can someone explain this??

    Just click on the Mesos icon when you're in your shop. (right beside where it shows how many mesos your shop has currently).
    I think your shop needs to have the "buy" function for this to work.

    So only the granny hired merchant can do this?

    Any shop with the "sell" function should be able to do it. ^^ Hope this helps.
