So i wanted to make this post in the suggestions & feedback because even though the vast majority here will most likely feel inclined to immensely disagree.
The truth is still there in big "*BOLD*" letters. Now over the course of about three or four months, I've made it my obligation to interact with a lot of ex players.
The minority of them being players who played from 2003-2009, we'd get into discussions about fond memories of the game back from our teen years.
Basically what made MapleStory so special to us, we all kind of came to the same conclusion it was the charm of the game that celitified it in our hearts.
The comradery we shared doing PQ's together, it was astonishing to see how genuinely excited we all were during the the entire process playing back then.
Alot of people like to say you can never reinstate what once was especially if it's apart of your childhood. I'll give an example, last year about this time me my mother, father & sister went to Niagara falls together.
We've got this infamous Polaroid picture of where we're standing in a specific location. With the falls directly behind us, i'm about 5 at the time my sister is 14 & she's bear hugging me & my parents are right beside us holding each other.
20 years later, we wanted to take that same exact picture in the same exact location. When my sister wrapped her arms around me to take the photo,I never felt like a 4ft tall 50 pound kid again so fast in my life!
Now the moral of the story here is, imagination is endless & no matter what it is if you come to it with an open mindset, rewinding the clock & you really want to re-experience those memories again it's going to happen the way it should.
After doing my research for the last 3 or 4 months, I have no doubt in my mind the audience for an OSMS server to come into fruition & be successful, god as my witness, it is there.
Now in the past I've went the extra mile & provided comments that go into minor & extensive detail about people requesting an OSMS server. 95% of this feedback is sprawled across social media platforms such as Youtube,Twitter,Facebook,Twitch ETC. So i encourage anybody that's got a spare 10-20 minutes in their day to just go out looking in the places i listed above.
They've got this cool guy named CopperSan that just made a second installment video of "10 MORE things only old school Maplers remember!" on YT, it's great stuff! & has great feedback in the comment section.
What i always like to say is we're all gamers, rather we prefer the new or we prefer the old we're in it together to help each other. To help our game creators succeed as best as they can, & no matter what game you play as long as it gives you that warm happy feeling inside go for it! Any real gamer will tell you that.
Now with Twitch, you would go into other MMO category's, Runescape is a good one, & you'd just go into a random streamers chat & pop the question. Hey! have any of you ever tried MapleStory? & most of the time if the chat is active you'll get a few responses of people saying yes i miss that game etc. So they're telling you in real time too.
Alot of the present MapleStory players always ask, where is the proof, how can we take your word for it? Well, i'm giving you the resources not only provided by me but allowing you to do your own research if you desire to. That being said it's beyond reminiscing, it's thousands & thousands of players with the same mindset as me, i'm just here vocally.
Comments
Unfortunately, there wasn't enough research done:
Requesting old-school Maplestory servers is against these forum rules for various reasons as per the Code of Conduct: We have received feedback from players, community managers, and developers on the matter over the course of years and everyone has their own opinion on the subject.
If you want, you can create a thread on the subreddit, one of the larger communities, as they have no Old Maple server rule. I cannot, however, guarantee its popularity.
Thread closed. Reason: Legacy server discussion
