I've recently seen a clip surfaced where someone accidentally sold an item NPC without realizing it. If it's an equipment with durability or you've oversold by 10 items there's almost no way of using the buyback option.

There are such things as item locks, but it can prevent the user from scrolling/enhancing the item if it wasn't complete.

In a few games there are "softlock toggles" that enables the item that cannot be sold to the system. With a system like this can prevent an item from being sold to the NPC but having an easy on/off toggle in-case the player changes their mind.

With this suggestion added there will be less items that get accidentally sold to the NPC in the first place.

There's already a system in place that prevents certain items from being sold to NPCs, like Hilla's pocket items, Pink Bean cup and belt., Zakum eye/face accessory, etc. There just needs to be a way to utilise it for something like this.
