Bug type: Quest / Map issue

Brief bug summary: Tried every way described on every forum to complete “An Incident, and the Missing Document” (Dark Room) quest. I don't have any ropes or platforms that I could get on. The "green dot" is right next to me - not sure why I'm not getting the scroll. Tried every method discussed on maplestory forums, but no luck.

More details: The “green dot” or NPC in my map is near the door/teleport, not at the upper-right corner of the map as everyone has described. Seems like my map is different from everyone else’s as well as my lack of ropes and platforms. I can’t get on anything. All the forums suggest either outdated methods (before 2017) or there is an issue with my game.

Steps to reproduce: Tried clicking on every pixel. There is that one spot on the green dot, a speech bubble comes up from Alcadno’s Cabinet says, “You can’t reach it. It’s too far.” But nothing happens after clicking OK and doesn’t help either. I jump, click, use the NPC chat, etc and nothing works. I kept changing channels – same thing happens. Quit the game and re-started the game. Re-started my laptop and came back on – still nothing.

Date and time of the incident: Sunday, July 23rd between 11:00am to 1:00am EST and tried again, Tuesday, July 26th at 8:00pm EST

I would appreciate it in someone could guide me on this - or let me know if it could be fixed...
