Box expiring on september 5 gives expired item

So I had the box from the override event for 10 50% epic pot scroll coupons and the expiration date was on september 5, I used it today and it gave me a coupon for the scrolls that had an expiration day: "08/31/2017 at 00:00" making me unable to claim them and after a minute they disappeared. Why make a box that expires 4 days from now give me a coupon that expired yesterday? I worked for those coins and now it's all gone. I already sent a ticket hoping I can get my 10 epic pot scrolls I worked for during the event. Now there's some hope.
