I’m back?

Nexon has given me the privilege of playing Maplestory on my main account after serving a 3 year ban. Without getting into many details, I have just a few questions.

Is it worth coming back I’m in a dead server? I know this question is pretty much up to me to decide; however, given the time of absence, I see the game has changed a lot.

Maybe I’m not looking hard enough, but is it possible Nexon will merge dead servers like Windia?

Did they get rid of maple decks (forgot the terminology if this is wrong)? I can’t seem to find them anymore.

For anyone who answers these questions, much appreciation.

Nexon has expressed the possibility of merging servers, but merging servers is a complicated process that relies on a lot of factors, no where near as simple as people make it out to be (despite their protests otherwise, there's no easy solution).

I believe by "maple decks" you're referring to character cards, which were not removed per se but were instead merged into the Legion system:
All characters level 60+ count towards a total level score. You can place those level 60+ characters on a grid, where each character (depending on their class) has a different shape. By placing characters on the grid in certain areas, you can gain stat bonuses listed. Additionally, each character on the grid gives a stat bonus unique to the class.

Finally, in-game you can access the Legion Raid. Every character currently on your legion grid will passively earn you coins by fighting a giant dragon. The coins can be used to purchase things like EXP coupons, drop coupons, level-up potions, master cubes, and (potentially in the future) flames of rebirth.
