This ideas/suggestions comes up after I read again what I suggested before in here http://forums.maplestory.nexon.net/discussion/14068/ideas-suggestion-for-future-update-and-new-char#latest

But I won’t discuss about the detail in the ideas in the link anymore. But another one that might be related into it eventhough only a bit.

This is another suggestion/ solution to server lag/crash/freeze plus the high requirement of computer to run the game eventhough this game supposedly to be a 2D games.

This suggestion is under several rumour/ my own assumptions :
(The rumour/ my own assumptions might be false, but I hope it helps giving ideas to Nexon)
1. Maplestory is lagging/ heavy because of it is running under old game system
2. Maplestory 2 was made to actually solve the old system exist on Maplestory 1, but the programmer got carried away and makes it into 3D games
3. Making 2 different maplestory 2D is unprofitable coz it might split the player into 2 game with similar game, which makes Nexon have to run 2 games at the same time.
4. A lot of players love Maplestory because of the old game play. Maplestory 2, eventhough claimed by several players as a better game compare to maplestory 1, but for me it is not. Maplestory 1 is my best game ever. Maplestory 2 have too much difference ( It is absolutely not the same eventhough some players claim it to be similar) and I dislike it.

General ideas :
Starting from the link I provide above, where I suggested to make a new rebirth system which give players a new class that starts from level 1 after a player reaching lv 250 on certain combination of classes which can explore a new world. This suggestion is not about the rebirth system anymore. But about to migrate to a new fresh game client through time, based on the ideas.

The suggestion is to make that classes and the new world into a separate game client. So there will be 2 game client for Maplestory 1. This is NOT Maplestory 2, but still Maplestory 1. In this thread, i will not discuss anything relate to maplestory 2. Everything only relate to Maplestory 1. But it will have 2 different Maplestory client.
The aim is to start a new fresh of a game client by integrating it slowly years by years. On this thread, I will call the old game client which is the current Maplestory 1 as Maplestory 1.1. As for the new game client where veteran players who have met the criteria (having certain lv 250classes) can create a new rebirth class within this new game client, I will call this new game client as Maplestory 1.2

This is the idea of migrating players from the old game client(Maplestory 1.1) to a new fresh game client (Maplestory 1.2), but doing it slowly through times while reducing/minimising any risk that might cause negative impact ( but still using necessarry parts of the Maplestory 1.1 database).
The general ideas is to simply adding bit by bit update on Maplestory 1.2 while still updating Maplestory 1.1. This is also to familiarise and introduce the new game client to players slowly without losing fan base.

And also this idea doesn’t push Maplestory to completely create a new huge game client to replace the Maplestory 1.1, because it is a headache and a lot of work and time to create a new complete/full game client to replace the old one because of the huge content. Maplestory 1.2 will start off slowly with small database, small game client and small content. It will have similar feature with Maplestory 1.1 with a bit differences if necessarry, but not too far (Around 1-2% differences is fine, but please keep it as 2D sidescrolling, i hate 3D game.).

But the main point is to create a new game client under a new system with less trouble (less lag, less crash, les game freeze). It will also allowed Maplestory to renew their game client as a lot of things, i believe have changed. Even windows have grown a lot past few years. If Maplestory doesn't change into a new fresh game client, i believe in the future, it might not keep up anymore with any future update on windows or any other program it associate with.

Into details of suggestion:
As a reminder, Only players from Maplestory 1.1 who have reached certain levels (possibly lv 250) on certain classes can create this new class on the Maplestory 1.2 game client. This maplestory 1.2 gameclient will be a separate download.

Maplestory 1.1 and Maplestory 1.2 will use the same database, but it is 2 different game clients. Maplestory 1.2 will use/generate several data from the same database as Maplestory 1.1, eventhough not the whole database. Certain things such as items or equips on Maplestory 1.1 cannot be brought to Maplestory 1.2. So players in Maplestory 1.2 have to get their new items and equips separately on Maplestory 1.2. Also, If a player want to access Maplestory 1.2, mostlikely they will have to close Maplestory 1.1 to avoid database crash. If Nexon think that using different database(2 databases) is better, Nexon can just make the Maplestory 1.2 database is generated/ based off Maplestory 1.1 database. Maplestory 1.2 database is linked and takes several data from Maplestory 1.1 as a start off.

Maplestory 1.2 game client will start off small. Some players who have met the requirement can make class there and play there. And after they meet certain target (either doing some quests, event, or level), they will get benefit on their char at Maplestory 1.1. Maplestory 1.1 will still run for a while.

But slowly through time Maplestory 1.2 will grow and adding more content whilst Maplestory 1.1 will slowly turn into a support to Maplestory 1.2. New players will still start off from Maplestory 1.1, but then they can move to Maplestory 1.2.

Slowly, through time, can reduce/delete several content/map from Maplestory 1.1 to reduce the game client(you don't have to remove/delete content tho unless you think it is necessary), and move more players to Maplestory 1.2. Slowly the role of Maplestory 1.2 as giving benefit to Maplestory 1.1 will switch. Maplestory 1.1 will slowly giving benefit to Maplestory 1.2 char. After Maplestory 1.2 grow and migrating more players, Maplestory 1.1 will slowly give benefit to Maplestory 1.2. Further on, making it easier for players at Maplestory 1.1 to reach the requirement so they can make new char at Maplestory 1.2. Maplestory 1.2 will progress further and become the main Maplestory Client replacing the Maplestory 1.1.

And through time, making it even easier for new players to meet the requirement to create classes at Maplestory 1.2 so Nexon can migrate more players into the new game client. Through time, you will simplify the Maplestory 1.1 by deleting unimportant content(depends on Nexon), and adding more content on Maplestory 1.2. As time goes through, can make Maplestory 1.1 as a Game Tutorial. And then deleting the Maplestory 1.1 and announce Maplestory 1.2 as the only game client. Or without making Maplestory 1.1 as tutorial client, you can simply announce that Maplestory 1.2 is available for all players. By that time, Maplestory 1.2 would already become a big game client with most players already in it.

Additionally, to keep connection between players on both game client, Maplestory can use/create a separate chat/external chat in game so that all players on both Maplestory 1.1 and Maplestory 1.2 can still chat to each other using certain chat mode or chat system within the external chat.

In the end, Nexon/Maplestory doesn’t have to follow exactly ideas / suggestion above. Since I am not Nexon, so I don’t know everything regarding the system. You can just take parts of the ideas, and improvise as you see fit. You don't have to do exactly the same as this ideas. But I Sincerely hope that it can give you more ideas on how to improve the game. Peace

NOTE :
If you are really going to make new game client, make sure you make it so that in the future, when you close off the Maplestory 1.1, you can cut off the connection between Maplestory 1.2 with Maplestory 1.1 completely without any negative side effect. So that Maplestory 1.2 game client can run on its own without any connection with Maplestory 1.1
