So, I haven't looked but hopefully I missed that part in-game, but either way... I'm surprised that screen shots aren't in a default folder labeled "screenshots" because having the screen shots in the main MapleStory folder is annoying....

Worse yet it lumps all your character's screenshots together.
So if you do a bit of leveling on a legion mule then have fun figuring out which screenshots were your level ups that you actually cared about.

Create a new folder and save your screenshot in the new folder I don't know if this helps.

There should be an option to adjust the default screenshot folder in-game, if I'm not mistaken. Check under the game options (Gear-shaped icon on the bottom-right corner of the screen).

There used to be, but with the new UI we can only choose between Maple folder, desktop or root.

If you uncheck "Auto Mode" it doesn't take pictures at level ups.

The problem isn't having access to screenshots later, the problem is where the screenshots are taken and stored by default.

Not sure if it's just for my case, but for me, the only folders you can pick from are the Maplestory folder, desktop, or main C drive.

I like that feature though. I'd rather just leave it on then have to remember to turn it back on when I go back to my main.
That's bound to make me miss screenshots I actually care about. And really I'd care about all of them if they were sorted by character.
