Can't create burning character after deleting one.

I decided to try a new class, realized it wasn't for me. I wanted to burn another character instead, and upon deleting the burning character, I was unable to burn a new one. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this?

    Is the old burning characters still on your character selection screen, as a ghost?
    If so, you'll have to wait until the deletion is final, 24 hours from when you did it. Once the ghost is gone, you should be able to create a new burning character.
