Can't pick up quest item- Magatia's Secret- Carson

Hi everyone,

I can't seem to pick up the magic control device in Carson's Experiment in the Magatia's Secret quest. I can pick up all other items but not that one. Any tips?

    Yes, I had room. The item appeared in my inventory during my next log in - so strange.

    You likely already had one in your inventory, since you can only hold one of them at a time.
