Is it possible to delay the expiry of an item that only appears after you've used a previous item by waiting 'til the last minute to activate that previous item ? To phrase the question more clearly- if you get a pet coupon, will the 90 days of pet life begin counting down as soon as you OBTAIN the coupon or will it only start counting once you've double clicked and USED the coupon?

Likewise, when you get a hunter's pouch or some package from an event, will the perishable items that you might get from it (eg. cubes, reward points) only begin their countdown to expiry once you USE that pouch/package? Or will anything that you might get from using that pouch/package be programmed to expire after a certain time from the moment you OBTAIN the pouch?
  1. When does the countdown to item expiry begin?0 votes
    1. When you obtain the coupon/pouch

    2. When you have used the coupon/pouch

The expiration of the item is independent of the expiration of the coupon or box it came from. So, yes, if you wait until the last moment to activate/use the coupon, you will usually be able to use the item until a later date than if you had used the coupon the instant you got it. I say "usually" because some items expire at a fixed date and time, regardless of when they were obtained.
