Fairy Bros Daily Gift still per character

The patch notes for v227 said
Players can claim the gift once the total number of monsters hunted near your level in the world reaches 300.

but when I hunted 300 mobs on my phantom then switched to my angelic buster to claim the gift, I still had 0 kills listed and had to kill 300 additional mobs to claim my daily gift.

    The Fairy Bros' Daily Gift update will be applied starting from November 1 at 12:00 AM UTC.
