Removing 2x Drop after Equalities is bad faith

The title's a bit mangled due to max character length, but I just want to put out the opinion that removing 2x drop coupons now, announced about a month after releasing equality cubes feels like incredibly bad faith dealing to me. It's basically a bait and switch to some of your most enfranchised players.

Most of these enfranchised players know that equalities boosting prime lines on gear means they are best for 3 types of items: hats for cooldown reduction, gloves for crit damage, and accessories for meso or drop rate. This is generally because those lines only appear on legendary (prime) lines which are guaranteed by equalities, making getting one or more of them a lot more likely. This means that many players who purchased equality cubes did so with the hope of getting drop gear (meso or item). Those players likely made that decision with the current ecosystem in mind, and removing 2x drop is burning these enfranchised players and big spenders hard.

Let's say player A used equalities to get 100% meso across 3 accessories and is able to now make 400mil farming each hour thanks to it and a 2x drop coupon. Those accessories when the Equality Cubes were released were worth close to 200 mil per hour of farming that player anticipates to do. Removing the 2x drop coupon has halved the value of these accessories that people have spent real money just a month after. Their accessories are now only adding 100 mil mesos farmed per hour, and they rightfully deserve to be mad. You're essentially taking people's money with an offer and then halving the value of that offer shortly after.

Essentially, it feels very dishonest to allow people to buy equality cubes knowing that this change was due to come and would be a big detriment to one of the most common targets using equality cubes. It feels like a classic bait and switch where an offer shows something, but only ends up giving half of what was offered. While I'm greatly opposed to the removal of these coupons without any form of increase of meso/drop rate to compensate, I think at the bare minimum, there should be some sort of refund to the affected players here due to these changes because there are many players who you've just dealt with in pretty bad faith here.
