Burning character creation bug

It's been 5 days since the Destiny patch went live, and we still can't participate in one of the main features of the burning event because of this bug. I've been waiting to create a burning character for 3 days, I already sent a support ticket but it's still unanswered.

I'm not the only one stuck in limbo, there's a bunch of reports on the forums, a lot of people are having the same problem.

I'm aware that it is a "known issue" but that doesn't mean that their are pushing for a quick fix on it so that we can actually play the event.

When can we expect the devs to fix this issue? Can we atleast hope that it will actually get fixed and that we are not screwed for the rest of the event?
