Special characters not allowed in the confirmation

Hello,
I currently have a character that has a special character í in-game. This was a recent change so I do not have any experience typing in special characters into the confirmation windows where they ask you to type your 'Character name/receive teachings' as confirmation. As it turns out, I was trying to change my character for toben hero event and it won't let me type in the special character, í. Is this a ubiquitous problem that I will have to deal with moving forward? Is there a way around this problem? I have tried copy pasting and tried alt + code number to type in the confirm box. However, it will not let me type in the correct character for me.
