Bounty Hunter Portals in Afterlands

I was running Afterlands on a Burning Character, and the portal appeared during the "Total Annihilation" mini-game; I have never seen this happen in Afterlands before. It cannot be entered (Pollo tells you that you cannot if you try) so this seems a redundant added feature.
