Dark Knight's Magic Crash vs. Mitsuhide Akechi

Magic Crash seems to not work on Akechi's reflect, unlike every other boss with the reflect mechanic. Phantom's Vol D'Ame seems to work on Akechi. Could Magic Crash be glitched in Akechi or is it intended?
