Vanquisher charm is a 10 second long hurricane and having restricted movement during the long cast time makes it really easy to get interrupted by boss attacks or map debris causing your burst to end prematurely. Shade has a similar foxfire skill and they can block statuses the same as old Kanna foxfire, along with all three explorer mages having a skill that blocks statuses so it's not like Kanna was special to have a skill that blocks statuses.
