Dear MapleStory Community and Nexon,
We, the dedicated players of the Hayato class and supporters of non-KMS classes, are coming together to voice our collective frustration. For too long, our classes has been neglected, sidelined, and treated as an afterthought in MapleStory’s updates, balances, and overall development. We are tired of swimming against the current, and we demand that Nexon acknowledge the persistent issues faced by our community. Hayato, Kanna and Lynn have always existed outside the KMS canon that dominates the game’s balance patches and content updates. This exclusion has left us feeling forgotten, undervalued, and, frankly, disrespected. Every patch cycle, we watch as KMS classes receive thoughtful adjustments, new skills, and meaningful improvements, while Hayato and other non-KMS classes are left with minimal changes, outdated mechanics, or outright bugs that go unaddressed for months if not years. The challenges we face as Hayato players are not just about balance. It’s about the constant struggle to feel like we matter to the developers. MapleStory is a game we love and we should be free to have fun with any class. But that love is tested when we’re forced to deal with clunky skill interactions, subpar damage scaling, and a lack of meaningful updates that keep Hayato competitive with other classes. The same can be said for other non-KMS classes, whose communities share our frustration. This pattern of neglect feels discriminatory and dismissive of the time, effort, and passion we’ve poured into these classes. Adding to our disappointment, the #GoWest movement, which was meant to channel the concerns of non-KMS class communities, has failed us. Instead of amplifying the voices of Hayato players and advocating for our needs, #GoWest has largely ignored our community and strayed from its original promise to bridge the gap between non-KMS classes and Nexon. The consistent oversight of non-KMS classes sends a message that our dedication doesn’t matter, and that’s unacceptable. We’re calling on Nexon to take action:
Prioritize non-KMS classes in balance patches. We deserve the same level of care and attention as KMS classes.
Address longstanding bugs and outdated mechanics. Hayato’s skill kit needs modernization to keep up with the game’s evolving meta.
Engage with the non-KMS community. Listen to our feedback, acknowledge our concerns, and show us that our voices are heard.
Ensure equitable treatment for all classes. No class should feel like an afterthought because it doesn’t fit the KMS mold.
Hold initiatives like #GoWest accountable. Ensure that movements claiming to represent ALL players truly advocate for our needs and deliver on their promises.
We’re not asking for special treatment—just for fairness and respect. To our fellow players, we invite you to stand with us, whatever your class is. Let’s make our voices heard and push for a MapleStory where every class has a chance to shine. Thank you for reading.
