This suggestion concerns the >>>
Legion System <<< in MapleStory and primarily targets players with a cumulative Legion level of
10,000 or higher. I understand this is a niche proposal aimed specifically at
endgame players.
Currently, I am experiencing issues when using the
in-game Legion Solver tool, even at
9,500 Legion. For players below
9,000 Legion, the system works very well. However, once surpassing that threshold, the solver sometimes fails to complete its calculations in time, forcing players to rely on
external third-party tools to optimize their Legion grid. Players above
10,000 Legion appear to encounter this issue even more frequently. This somewhat defeats the purpose of having an integrated solver within the game.
Proposed Change
I would like to suggest a structural adjustment to how Legion blocks function.
Instead of the current “Tetris-like” shaped blocks, players could receive
individual single tile blocks based on their Legion rank. The number of tiles would scale with rank as follows:
•
B Rank – 1 single Legion block
•
A Rank – 2 single Legion blocks
•
S Rank – 3 single Legion blocks
•
SS Rank – 4 single Legion blocks
•
SSS Rank – 5 single Legion blocks
This change would remove the
shape restrictions currently imposed by the Legion grid system. As a result, grid optimization would become significantly more manageable, especially for players exceeding
10,000 Legion, while still preserving progression value through rank scaling.
Alternative Suggestion
Another possible solution would be to replace physical blocks entirely with a
Legion Stat Point system. Instead of placing blocks on a grid, each Legion block could grant
one Legion Stat Point. Players could then allocate these points freely, like the
Hyper Statistics System.
This would:
•
Eliminate grid complexity
•
Improve accessibility and usability
•
Remove the need for external optimization tools
•
Preserve balance through point scaling
