Gaining Random EXP?

I was gonna train at skyline in scrapyard but I saw a mercedes training there already so I was about to cc and then I noticed I was gaining exp from his kills. I was not in a party with him. Is this normal?

    Did you hit any monsters on the map? (Including with a summon or some kind of automatic skill)
    You get exp when a monster you hit dies, even if you didn't deliver the killing blow.

    Pretty sure daily would of done that by accident maybe? that's the only way to gain exp if your not in a party.
