Why is Hot Day in PST?

On the stream last week, @SavageAce said that the change to UTC time was to help plan events for GMS' world-wide player base.

And yet, the events Nexon plans are all based on PST. Hot Days, Cash Sales, even 2x weekends (there are multiple 2x sessions, but the only timezone where all these sessions fall on "the weekend" is PST).

The only events that run by UTC are in-game pre-programmed ones, like Kritias, Flag Race, and the new Icy Onslaught invasions. And they all end up being at hours that are inconvenient for the majority of the player base. They need to be changed to run 24 hours, so everyone around the world can enjoy them.

Nexon must realize that there is no such thing as a truly "neutral" server time. Any clock you pick will be more convenient to one location than to others. So might as well pick one that would suit the most players.

Of course, I know the answer to the question in the title. If Hot Day were in UTC, we'd get a lot of American players screaming that they missed it because "it said Saturday, since when does Saturday end at 4AM? Why would I log in Friday night to get Saturday's box?" And so on. I do agree with this decision. However, I believe that the same logic should be applied to everything in the game. Don't confuse us with some things resetting at midnight UTC and some at midnight PST. Move the servers, at least the North American ones, back to PST.
