Equipment should drop with revealed potential
A new character, looking for decent gear, will collect equipment drops, reveal whatever has potential, use the good potential items, and NPC the rest.
This works reasonably well until about level 100. At 110 and 120, revealing the equipment starts to cost more meso than you get for NPC'ing it after discovering the potential is bad (as it is, almost all of the time). At 130, revealing costs 10x as much as you get for NPC'ing. Level 140 gear costs 392,000 meso to reveal. That is quite a lot for someone who new or unfunded that can only get meso from monster drops.
The high cost of revealing is supposed to be a meso-sink for people who cube a lot, not for new players who hardly have any meso. So I suggest that the cost of revealing (that is now charged before you can even use a cube) remain the same, but equipment should drop (or come from shops or crafting) with its potential already revealed, saving the new players this high expense.

Ask yourself: what does the game gain from equipment dropping with hidden potential? It just wastes time and meso. Nexon acknowledged this by making the rank of the hidden potential visible, trying to give a hint whether an item is even worth bothering with. So I say, take that to its logical conclusion: make the potential revealed entirely, and then we wouldn't even need the "magnifying glass" button in our inventories at all, since cubing does an automatic reveal now (and charges the meso for it upfront).
I don't really remember what its like to have so little money that I can't afford to reveal equips that drop (even though I never have much money anyway), however at the same time I think this could partially be solved by players not revealing every equip that they pick up.
As a general rule of thumb, I stopped revealing anything less than Epic rank a long time ago, and it significantly reduces how much you need to reveal stuff (since so little comes epic). But I could get behind this if it gets enough support from other players as well.
I'm talking about new players. They haven't accumulated your years of experience (nor your stocks of tradeable useful gear), they're just looking for 3% mainstat equipment. There is no reason to punish them (or "meso sink" them) for doing so.
Again: the potential-reveal meso sink is meant for heavy cubers. Let it apply only to them.
