Bits

right now bits are just complete garbage, all events that utilize them always bring in expiring bits and cases that nobody bothers to work for because well... they expire. Like honestly there's no point to even bothering to collect them BECAUSE they expire.

I propose changing them into kind of a mix of a crusader codex/ inner ability kind of item.

Basically key areas and content of maple world would have puzzles to collect, based on the difficulty of the content, the bit puzzle will either be larger or smaller, larger for hard content like say bosses such as Lotus, Magnus, etc and smaller for easier content like romeo and Juliet pq or Ludibrium.

Upon the completion of a puzzle, depending on how difficult it was, your bit box will be awarded permanent stats.
EX: completed the easy Victoria island puzzle, got +1 all stats.
completed the Damien Puzzle get +1% att +1% m att.

everyone would start with a basic 2x2 bit box, well wait, how do create bigger puzzles then? good question!
In order to upgrade the size of the bit box you'd use a set amount of Party quest points gained from -what else- party quests! Not only that, each time you upgrade the box the level of the box increases for a chance at better potential lines.

Wait? potential, yuck i don't want to cube another item!

good news, party quest points would be used in order to re roll potential lines on the bit case, re rolling does have a chance to drop you a potential rank, however you cannot drop below epic. You may also use extra pq points in order to lock your rank however you won't be able to lock the lines.

Well great, but how are the bits obtained?

For Areas like puzzles for continents they either drop randomly from monsters in the area + awarded from quests, for bosses obtained as a drop or through their coin shop, for pq's randomly from the monsters in the pq or bought with pq points from the pq shop. You don't receive the bit directly though, instead you gain a bit box that holds a random bit that holds a bit for that puzzle from that region / boss. Bits themselves cannot be traded however the boxes can, the boxes will also have a time limit on them so sell/use them asap. Bit pieces would also be trade able within the account.

This leave a high chance of getting multiple duplicates though, annoying right?

So you'll also have the option to break down bits into broken bits, collect enough broken bits and you can forge bit boxes that will give you a new bit piece that you DO not have in your bit box. you'd be able to forge a special 2x2 bit box special 4x4 bit box and special 8x8 bit box. Each box obviously costing more broken bits to create.

do note that puzzle pieces for easier puzzles would give Significantly less broken bits than puzzle pieces for harder puzzles.

Say you've gone the extra mile, completed all the bit puzzles, gained your crown as the puzzle master -or w/e they call the medal/title-

What now?

Well it doesn't end there, After completing all the puzzles, special version of the puzzles would open up for 4x4 and 8x8. Essentially you'd be able to upgrade your current 4x4 and 8x8 puzzles with special bits come from Grand bit cases which are rare drops. unlike normal bits, Grand bits can be traded normally through the market, however they can only be traded once before becoming bound to the account (yes they'd still remain trade able through the account). Grand Bits would be completely random, making it a lot harder to complete, however the stats gained from upgrading these puzzles would be worth it (not only that you get a sick new picture for your puzzle case!). Grand Bit cases could also be created with the Jeweler profession.

To create 1 grand bit case you would need
5 confusion fragments
5 primal essence
10 purple powders
100 twisted time
5 brilliant Dusk Essence
20 superior monster crystals
10 normal bit cases
1 Bit Energizer (These can be obtained through the party quest shop, requires a fair amount of party quest points, Untradable)

They can also be obtained specifically from Lotus's and Damien's coin shop costing 5 stigma/absolab coins each.

aaaaaand that's all i got for now.

Flames and AO were shot down before the MLC was disbanded. Why won't you just let it go? You're getting as bad as NTD now. Stop.

Wasn't the bits system scrapped though? The icon from our inventories are gone and the tutorial quest no longer gives us the bit box. It seems more like Nexon forgot to remove the tutorial quest. I'm not against the idea of it coming back though

If they do bring it back, I hope the bit box will go into its own inventory instead of taking up another set-up slot. I know the bit pieces themselves had their own inventory but the box didn't.

I was also still hoping for Scarlet items being revamped, having 3 familiars at once, or make a meister dominator pendant a really item (make an item that requires 5 primal essence worth it.)

Nexon doesn't even have plans for Nebulites either. Want to keep Nebulites?

I will probably still say "told you so" with or without AO.

With: "Told you so! I knew it was going to work!"
Without: "Told you so, no wonder everyone left"

If the government doesn't make sure people don't get food or healthcare, they will die.

According to my theory, AO will stabilize things. Don't give me more of that damage gap or powercreep talk, I found the chances of failure to be near impossible. People would take advantage or anything free the game has to offer for a gain without spending. Why not make it more rewarding and allow players get a chance to get a daily supply of items if they remember to do it before the day ends (harvest the vegetables before it gets too dark.)

I will be like this until Maplestory runs out of players, or if Nexon takes plan Z. My decision sticks (YES, I'm crazy and I don't care)

What if your theory is a complete load?
    Professor Dax knows the outcomes

Aside from crafting, and having things to sell, it is more flexible with lower level gear. Those godly players who chose CRA or tyrants will have a hard time with the system compared to those using gears dropped by mobs because flames only work on equipment lower than their level. The low level flames are common and easily compatible with low level gear. Those with who choose high level gear can only work with high level flames which are available from does weekly bosses, or from crafting using materials of low level crap flames. This system will backfire on those who chose high level equipment as their way to go and are looking for perfection.

If you have a garden, you can use the food to feed yourself, sell leftovers to your neighbor who ran out of crops for the day (selling to people who are buying flames for materials.) A third option is to offer your daily or accumulated harvest(s) to the gods of your server (the people who have 15 star tyrants and are looking for insane results.) Since they are most likely perfectionists, they will have the most restrictive items (RIP Absolab users because you need a high level crafting in Accessory Crafting) to flame and they won't stop until they hit something godly, and you can just keep supplying them and get paid because of their immense project.

To make craftable flames, you need the flames from mysterious herbs, mana crystals, special extractor from high level Alchemists to break down the junk flames into materials (like cars to scrap metal,) and finally a meister or master accessory crafter. It requires BOTH alchemy and accessory crafting to pull this feat off. Even if the Alchemist is absent and flames materials came to a halt are no longer crafted on the accessory crafter's end, the flames dropped by boss runs will still benefit those who didn't choose endgame gear due to compatibility nature of flames.
