With the Destiny Weapon upgrading looming ahead, it also comes with the starforce limit raised as well as changes to the possible results. Not going to fudge over the numbers on if the system is worse or better because failing doesn't reduce a star and destuction rates and adjusted, but players who are aiming beyond 22 will have a harder time in GMS finding spares.

Population: Our populations are all spread apart and it becomes harder to supply ourselves with more spares. KMS servers hold more players and on top of that, they share an auction house (with import fees) as well as cross world boss battles so they the strongest players to get equipment spares needed. Inkwell already sent out the survey so I'm sure he will address the populations soon this year. The only worry if it comes after the star force change when players suddenly start blowing things up and sudden need for Eternals, Pitch and Brilliant pieces rises while we each have smaller servers.

Non-KMS Items: Aside from the scarcity of Eternal/Pitch/Eternal, GMS also has no real way of resupplying backups for its non-KMS items. KMS items can be replenished reliably even though it is long (Hard Grandis and HTene bosses speeding up drop boxes instead of shards.) Items in GMS have a harder time being reliably replenished. The Sweetwater shop doesn't sell all the armors and accessories and none of the weapons. The second part is crucial as the Sweetwater weapon pool has the Sweetwater Katara which is Dual Blade's BiS in GMS. Since the items cannot be bought from the NPC shop or exchange pieces, it is pretty much finding a pitch piece for DB. Would be nice if the Sweetwater Shop sold everything or there the bosses in the voyage dropped a redeemable box/piece.

Reboot: We are still holding onto Reboot despite all Maplestory regions abandoning theirs. With KMS normalizing Reboot 1 and Reboot 2 into Eos and Helios respectively, they don't have to worry about GMS issues such as not being able to trade equips between characters and other players. Other issues they don't face is that expiring items from boss boxes or only drop in item form can be dropped into a storage mule. Reboot players either have or one of or both the issue of cannot obtain extra spares or their main inventory is drowned in spares. Even if GMS Reg servers get their merge then the starforce cap changes in that order, Reboot servers will be at a disadvantage due to the continued need to store spares and waiting for pitch (both are nonissues in all other servers.)

As a reboot player I think the point about inventory drowning in spares is actually niche, I have never had an issue with running out of inventory space unless I was specifically trying. Even on that character I still have plenty of space for anything important dropping.
Unless you go out of your way to collect of bunch of Oz rings you don't actually use, Party Quest equips, event androids, etc, you'll never run out of inventory space.
That said however, for people who do wish to hoard your limits are extremely small once you do start going out of your way to collect the one time rewards.
How many items were in the anniversary equips event? That event alone would fill up multiple inventories if you wanted to hold onto them all.

I think the vast majority of reboot players won't face any problems with equip inventory space, but those that do need a lot of extra space due to the way they collect items.
Multiple inventory bags for equips is the best way to handle this issue specifically.
Android reclaim UI similar to medal UI would help with this problem, but there's still the issue of one time event rewards that people don't want to get rid of.
