Question about starforce

I'll try to keep it short. I bought a Fafnir claw a year ago with a really good flame on it. I then proceeded to scroll it with 15% spell traces (Not sure if I used 15% or 30%). I think I had two or three successes.
I then proceeded to starforce it all the way up to 13 stars. Recently I found out that it would have been better to scroll my claw first and starforce later. Now I was thinking, what about those 2 star enhancement scrolls? Some people told me it that if the scroll succeeds it will bring the item to two stars. So could I use a 2 star enhancement scroll on my claw to get another chance to starforce it?

The flame was either 21 Att and 5% damage. Or 28 Att and 5% damage.

Enhancement scrolls like 2- and 3-star scrolls bring the item to 2 or 3 stars respectively. It's bizarre wording, but it means that if you start at 0 stars, the scroll will bring the item up to 2 or 3 stars.

So, no, using a scroll won't help. In addition, it would be more expensive to reset the item as is. Your item is fine, although it will cost a hefty sum of mesos to bring it to 15 stars.

Thank you for your response. You stated that scrolling a 0 star Item will get it up to 2 stars with a 2 star enhancement scroll. But it won't get my 13 star claw back to 2 stars? why not? Can't I use a scroll on my claw because it already has more than two stars? And I'm willing to spend a good amount of mesos in that claw to make it godly. I think I lost about 12 - 16 att on it so far.

No, the enhancement scrolls only give stars, not take away.

To remove your stars you'd have to use an Innocence scroll. There's an upcoming 50% one in the attendance about 4-5 days from now if you've already started, or you can use a 30% Innocence scroll for 5,000 spell traces. However, an Innocence scroll will remove your 15% spell trace stats as well. I'm also unaware as to if it'll affect the flame. I'm never particularly concerned about perfecting gear so I haven't looked into the specifics of an Innocence.

However, I'm not entirely sure if scrolling before or after starring has any effect; I think the stats are added in regardless of the order now.

I'm very happy with your advice and information. Thank you once again :)
I have used an innocence scroll on my face accessory last month and it did remove my flame on it. SO innocence scrolling is not an option.
Not being bothered by imperfect gear does save you a lot of headaches :p

Now that you mention it. I read that if my claw has between 100 and 150 Att I would get 3 Att for each star. Between 150 and 200 4 Att per star added. And 200+ Att would give me 5 Att per star. After I had lost hope I noticed something strange. I successfully scrolled my claw once more with a 15% spell trace (adds 9 att) during the last spell trace event. And My claw went from 192 Att to 205 Att. Which is a lot more than I should have gotten. My guess is that you're right. I might have gotten back a bit of the lost Att. I'm very curious towards my next scroll.
