Trading Premium Style Box Items In Reboot?

I know it kind of contradicts the no-trading-policy in Reboot, but it make sense. The premium style box items are random and can be very annoying and especially a waste of money when you're trying to get a specific item, not to mention it also breaks Maplestory's no gambling rule. I know there's an NPC where you can trade one item for ONE stamp, which is basically 3 dollars for 1 stamp, and you need 20+ stamps to get a single item from the stamp shop.

I suggest that there should be a trade system in Reboot only for cash shop items, and if you want to get more specific, Premium Style Box items. Instead of having people trade in their items for inefficient stamps, they could trade with other players.

A one for one trade system would probably be the best way to go about implementing this

As an ex Reboot player i feel your pain with the cash shop stuff not being tradeable.. but honestly..it just seems like trying to implement a "you can trade this only" kind of thing in a server where trading is 100% restrictive seems a bit like bending the rules to suit your needs. I mean getting premium boxes in that server at all was really a gift, because no one ever thought we'd get them. The system does need work, like maybe in reboot, instead of random boxes you guys just get packages you can buy period.

I agree with your points. An alternative to trading is revamping the stamp store thing. Instead of selling the Camellia and Shadow Warrior items, they should sell items that you can receive from the Premium Style boxes during that rotation. So if you open a bunch of boxes and don't get what you want you can spend 20 stamps on the one item you wanted. This could also encourage players to buy 20 style boxes, so if they don't get what they want they'll always have backup.

NX doesn't affect progression or make anyone stronger or anything. It's just cosmetics. Implementing this feature wouldn't change the state of the game, and would more just alleviate player frustrations with RNG. But especially if it's a one for one trade, nothing is inherently gained or lost. Of course, this can by no means involve mesos, for obvious reasons.

A 1 for 1 trade is very easily abused. There are many items in the Surprise boxes that are obviously not as desired as other ones. Unless you try to assign a "market value" to items in a 1 for 1 trade someone can trade something really rare like a Feline Blue Sleeves for a junk box item. As compensation, a trade can happen outside of the game that violates the ToS because you have something worth "value" that you have just traded. The trade can also be exchanged for carries or other services.

This is applicable to normal servers as well, and they have their full NX trade system. There's no way to stop outside trades or anything, so this is probably the best that's possible.

The difference is in Reboot you shouldn't be able to trade anything at all. Outside trades happen as a consequence and an acceptable drawback to allowing a free trade system within the other servers. Keeping it difficult (but not impossible because nothing is) to trade items of "value" in Reboot due to the lack of trade is a good strategy and should remain the status quo. Also from a financial standpoint - Nexon makes a lot more money in Reboot if you can't trade your junk NX items.
