I played maple way back when tiger was playing and all those top ranks and then on and off again. I really want to get back into it but a few things scare me such as getting the characters to 120 and such for the link skills and all that extra jazz. Honestly, I really like how the new cadena and illium classes look.... anyway any suggestions would be very much appreciated or just general help. Thanks :)

Well, welcome back to the game. :)

The only advice I can give is looking up various guides on each class and choose the class that fits you. Getting each class to 120 for certain link skills will be tedious at first but it will allow you to pick and choose the class you enjoy.

Don't worry broski. I too came from earlier maple days, beta or right after beta to be exact, when "Stephen" was the guy before Tiger was or when perion cc 1 was the market spot

you're probably thinking that leveling is as much a grind as it was back then. It's not. You can get your characters to lvl 120 in a matter of hours now if you train at the right spots, use some 2x cash shop exp coupons or in game enjoyable winters exp coupons.

There's a ton of classes and branches of those classes now so you have a lot of options. I'd suggest making characters for link skills to 120 or even lvl 70 such as Demon avenger/demon slayer, kanna, hayato, mercedes as an example.

When it comes to choosing your main, what helped me was always breaking it down to the basics. I incorporate my own personal feelings into it. Do I want to play a class thats heavy hitting but a bit slower than the rest(warrior). Do I want the mystical aspect of being able to use magic and wands and spells and feel like I'm immersed in a different world(magician). Do I want to be flying across the map and jumping and attacking and feel like a ninja or naruto(Thief). Do I want to be long range and shoot arrows and feel like a hot shot long distance king(Bowman). Etc.

Forget about damage momentarily and just see what it is that you personally prefer your class to have. At the end of the day, damage won't mean much if you don't enjoy the class you're playing. I've been in that position where I've sacrificed fun for damage and invested heavily and in the end, I got bored of the class and felt like I wasted money and time telling myself and forcing myself to like a class simply because I had invested and wasted money and tons of items on it already.
