[EVENT ISSUE] Santa's Shining Box: Not receiving Lucky Winter Buff
Bug type: Event bug
Brief bug summary: Whenever I open santa boxes, I never get the Lucky Winter drop buff. I've tested this with about 3000 Santa boxes, but yet not a single Lucky Winter drop buff. I only get the EXP one and the MATT/ATT one.
More details: I talked to my friend and a few people on some maplestory forums, and some people were having the same problem.
Character name: CrypticThei Character level: 206 Character job: Paladin World name: Broa
This isn't a bug, just extremely unfortunate luck on your part. The rewards from the boxes are randomized, and it is still statistically possible to open 3000 boxes and never get one of the rewards

@AKradian Lol yes, of course. It says "DROP" on it and says "greatly increases item drops for 30 minutes." Not sure how anyone could get that confused with attack. :P
Haha I was wondering if anyone had the same issue I did. I opened around 2k boxes and not a single drop coupon came out. I had lots of exp and attack buffs Interesting that it's actually a thing.
I wonder if we have any common factors. I'm a level 211 bam.
People who play Maplestory need to learn statistics. Depending on the drop rate of the buffs this isn't that extreme given the thousands of characters opening boxes. Just using a simple bell curve it would be easy to show that there would be a few people on each extreme getting none, or almost none, of the drop multipliers, and the same for the exp multipliers and we have seen both in this thread.
I like statistics. Statistics is fun, not my major though so I'm allowed to say that. And the drop buff is a semi common reward from the boxes. If there's quite a few of us opening thousands of boxes without a single drop buff, I'd say there's either some kind of requirement or we should all go and buy the lotto.

I think its a little bit too unlikely that other players and I are getting tons of the exp multipliers, but haven't gotten a single drop one.
Status update: Just opened 1347 more boxes and Didnt get a drop coupon
