I downloaded the Halloween patch last night, but I did a system restore to a week ago because my computer had an slowness issue. Now when it redownloaded the patch it says base.wz corrupted. I downloaded the manual patcher and it appears to be stuck at Base.wz [3/3] 0%. Is there anything I can do that doesn't involve redownloading mapelstory?

You should probably run a surface scan of your hard drive. Files don't normally become corrupt for no reason. You've likely got some bad sectors/clusters. It might be a good time to make a backup of anything important too. Bad spots on a drive can often spread like a cancer, 5 can easily turn to 500 or 5,000 at the snap of a finger.
i was thinking it was a virus or / antivirus of sorts
so his antivirus deleted a file or something along these lines
when you installed you didnt have avg / norton [ antivirus on ] by chance did you?
a good way to check is though msconfig if its a process
    http://forums.maplestory.nexon.net/discussion/49/troubleshooting-using-msconfig#latest
its a good way to do a self check to see if its a background process or corrupted files
check if u have done msconfig trouble shooting
then its most likly just as death said
this was part of my trouble shooting steps lol
