Why can't some people figure out auction house?

I just don't understand these people who put up stuffs on auction for wayyyy over what they're worth. I mean for christ sake, you can figure out what they're worth simply by looking at the auction market. Yet, there are people who put Subi-throwing stars for 30,000,000. I don't care if this person is newbie first time playing MS ever.
Or maybe he's laundering dirty money from his alt hacking account lol.
