Flames on Gollux and Sweetwater Items

I have seen people who have been trying to flame their gollux and sweetwater gear and have realized they can only be flamed up to tier 5. From what I understand these items are not being treated as boss gear (which can be flamed up to tier 7) despite the fact that they do come from boss monsters. Is this intended behavior? Or were they just left out of the 'boss item database' because they are GMS exclusive. (The same goes for Sengoku High items, though they are not actually boss items so this may also be intended)
