Kaiser: sub weapon stuck?

I burned my kaiser to lvl 100 today just now and received my 'frozen' weapon and sub weapon.
I can't seem to equip the sub weapon though? Nova Justice Essence is stuck in the equipped slot

    Make sure you've completed your 4th job advancement, and check for a quest you need to accept from the lightbulb to upgrade your Nova Essence to a form that can be unequipped.
