Cant login because of new Nexon launcher (Steam)

When trying to log into maplestory from steam, I get this new launcher that requires my email. Ok buddy, I put my email in. But then nexon says "Unable to link. Your email address is already linked to a different account on this platform.".. WTF???? Yeah so what? why cant I just login and play? This stuff is so annoying especially after waiting 6hrs for maintenance

It's not entirely clear what you're trying to do. If you're trying to launch the game using Steam, you have to link your Nexon account to your Steam account.

If you're going from Steam to Maplestory, as far as I'm aware you can simply log in with the same email, although it may require a password specifically for Nexon. But I've never tried and I cannot find much information on this particular situation.

Steam users are not the only ones that are having problems entering MapleStory after the last maintenance performed.
