Returning Luminous player is unplayable

After doing much research, I know why I don't have access to Light Affinity from my 1st skill job, which gives 5% damage to my light skills (my main skill for mobbing).

I created my Luminous a VERY long time ago, and apparently back then, we had access to both Dark and Light affinity, and recently they changed it where you get to choose one in the storyline. Well when I started playing again, my Luminous was already lvl 80, meaning the storyline is done, meaning I can't choose. And it defaults you to Dark Affinity IF you skip the storyline or like in my case, come back from a long hiatus where the skills changed.

So now I'm stuck with Dark Affinity, with a choice I had no part in. I have spent the last 2 months grinding 8+ hours a day, only to figure this out recently. And my class is basically unplayable as I start optimizing towards end game, missing 5% dmg. Certain end game maps require certain stats to be able to clear, and now I can't reach that. I'm not a super funded player either, just starting from scratch so you can imagine how hard it is already. I'm currently lvl 226, I've been working on my links skills/legion, and now I don't want to play anymore. I can't, knowing I'm missing 5% dmg.
