Cursed Totem (Spawn Enhancer) [Reboot+Non-Reboot]

This is an idea to help improve the overall experience to GMS (Global MapleStory) for its audience to increase playtime, which increases player base, and thus also increases overall revenue the game can bring in annually.

CURSED TOTEM will be a permanent spawn enhancing skill that every character gets upon creation.

What this item will do is increase the spawn by +150% (250% spawn) and spawn rate by +150% (250% spawn rate) for an efficiency of +300% increased value (400% value) from mobs for that much more EXP and Item Drops (and thus Mesos included), but there will be a cursed effect; Wild Totem / Kishin is +50% Spawn (150% spawn) and +40% Spawn Rate (140% spawn rate) for +90% increased value (190% value).

The cursed effect will be, while the Cursed Totem is summoned, will cause the map to be reduced EXP and Item Drop Rate by 65%, this means the total value at max potential is 140% value. This spawn is too large and too quick to take full advantage so the real rate is between 75-115% value depending on both class and amount of damage the character currently has. Yes, there would be cases where you will have a nerf to your rates for EXP and Item Drops (and Mesos), but the game would feel so much more satisfying to play that it will end up feeling like a positive.

Spawn enhancers are better than just increasing the spawn/spawn rate to the maps since it will give the players that satisfying feeling of seeing small spawn turned into a massive spawn and has that nice gameplay feel to it of feeling overpowered even though it is about the same rates as before. Though, spawn and spawn rate adjustments to some maps would still be needed too overtime.

Additional benefit: To reach maximum value of this insane spawn and spawn rate will require training partners allowing for party play and reintroducing the multiplayer aspect to MapleStory which is supposed to be an MMORPG, but not forcing the party play as optimal gains since the training party is sharing EXP and Mesos and instead equalizing it as an option (and improving the training by a lot for the weaker mobbers).

Additional benefit: With a massively increased spawn and spawn rate to everyone allows for every map to be viable allowing for a lot more training options for people and no longer have a popular map being overused and all the other maps being abandoned.

Additional benefit: This should help equal out the playing field of Kanna and non-Kanna play for all classes in GMS have the same enjoyment to the game.

Wild Totem will be replaced with Wild Artifact.
This item grants the same benefits basically, but in a different way. Upon activating it, the next 2 hours will decrease the curse effect of Cursed Totem by 40% instead of by 65% for a maximum potential value of 240% instead of a maximum potential value of 140%. This will average out to be a similar value of the 190% of Wild Totems / Kishin are now.

Additional non-Reboot monetization, an NX item that removes the curse effect entirely for a set duration. Allows Nexon to make more money to incentivize creating a better feeling gameplay experience for the players.

    This doesn’t address the current totem/spawn enhancement issues at all. I feel that the general consensus of the GMS player base is that they want more spawn for more exp (and meso/item drop), not for the “good feel” of increased spawn. A better solution would be to allow everyone to have a skill that increases spawn rate without the negative effects. I do feel though that Maplestory needs some more “party play”,

    This idea specifically was to create a better feeling maple without actually making rates better. I wanted the rates to be around equal with Curse Totem and allow it to offer party play of 2 people for duo-training which would be fun.

    I did just make an idea for a totem for making better rates for unused maps (utilizing burning field effect) and for party play to get the players to explore the game world more and to encourage party play. The party play with that idea is not better than solo play, but should make it where the rates are about equal to solo more/less, and better rates for the weak mobbers when the party up with strong mobbers.
