Heroic Server storage is still an issue.
It's been nearly a decade since Reboot/Heroic servers were introduced. After all this time, we still have no good options to store equipment. The 128 slots that we get is nothing when every single item is untradeable. Our inventories quickly fill up with event items, starforce fodder, transitional progression gear, and useless but unobtainable items that are kept for commemorative value. I've been using equipment presets to hold spares and those are all full now, too.
It doesn't help that the Ludibrium Night Troupe event distributed three commemorative non-NX equips without telling the player that they were being distributed. No confirmation pop-up, no dialogue prompt, no tradeable-within-storage voucher. The game just placed them in your inventory without asking. The only options Heroic server players have then is to destroy them and lose them or just keep them forever and be stuck with three less equipment slots on their main characters. It's not the first time an event had this oversight.
Heroic servers desperately need a storage system for equipment. Adding one would also serve as a small way to monetize Heroic servers in the short term, by selling more storage slots.
At the very least, change the normal Storage system to work like it did in MapleStory2 where untradeable items could be placed in storage but could only be reclaimed by the character that stored them.
Alternatively, add 40-slot equipment storage bags.
Comments
Also, add in 40-slot Familiar Card bags.
And no they should not charge money for storage in Heroic Worlds.
40 (39) more slots is pretty good. There is still an important gameplay aspect to good inventory management and infinite slots would remove that. Heroic Worlds only as well, I feel like too much inventory space on Interactive Worlds would negatively affect the mesos market.
With that said, decoration tab bags are needed and limiting this only limits how much money Nexon can make from cash item purchases. So specifically 40-slot decoration tab bags would need highest limit that is possible (I need these!!).
Reg already infinite slots because you can trade. I am not asking for infinite slots either, just make it four/five bags same as the other bag types.
Only Herbalism / Mining / Production Bags is a combination maximum of 5 bags, they all share the same count.
Soul Bag is 1 and Recipe Bag is 1 for their maximum.
Interactive having limited inventory is so they cannot hoard equipment, try to artificially raise the price of the equipment with less in the marketplace, and then sell their hoarding when the price gets high.
Limited inventory forces the players to eventually sell or trade the equipment away.
For Heroic Worlds, if the inventory is too high then it makes certain progression paths less interesting where some equipment you get backups for without the need to have it in your equipment inventory will lose their value as a result.
40-slot equipment bag is plenty of extra inventory room for Heroic Worlds.
The same issue is seen with Reboot servers where they cannot hold a bunch of spares without it cluttering their inventory since they cannot be stored. Only pieces that can be stored nicely are Kalos/Kaling, CRA/Empress pieces and the crafting materials. Items that come in expiring equipment boxes or only drop as equips are the main items clogging since they are needed to 22 star or go further. To an extent, Gollux Shop being restocks forces players to buy equipment at once a week instead of being able to stockpile coins and buying one when something breaks. The weekly purchase limit should be removed in both servers.
No it doesn't. You can just put as much crap as you want on mules or alt accounts.
Limited inventory does nothing but minorly inconvenience the player.
You're forgetting all this crap that is one time redeem you will never see it again forcing you to waste an inventory slot forever on potential anvils for your equipment.
The stuff that floods your inventory is so easy to obtain it doesn't matter if you have room for it or not.
You just go grab another one the next week. You can always make room for more stuff in reboot or just stop farming it for awhile.
The limiting factor is meso not inventory space, what matters for inventory space is all this stuff that can't be upgraded and is one of a kind, things like Androids, Event rewards, Quest Rewards, etc.
You're punishing players for playing the game as a collector, meanwhile those who only care about enhancing gear will never run out of inventory space. More bags doesn't make "progression paths" less interesting, it simply allows players to play the game the way they want to.
