Scrolls and Bonus Potential System Rework Concept
In short, scrolls and bonus potentials are deleted from the game in replace of two new systems that should fulfill a simpler system with the same power. The greatest thing Reboot has done is reset the game into removing systems and simplifying the game.
A partial equipment reset would need to be implemented with this kind of change, where the game factors in the work you already put into your equipment for the new system.
Scrolls Rework becomes Star Experience:
Star Experience would be this:
Whenever you acquire monster exp while the equipment is equipped, all of the equipment will level up and gain stats, the max limit is based on the current star rank of that equipment.
The stats you acquire is based on the Star Experience's level and is similar to what stats the star rank is giving; example being the early levels is all stats only for most equipment since the first 15 stars is all stats only and after this point you start getting all stat and all attack.
This is all in addition to what you would normally get from star force directly. With the power being similar to what you would get from scrolling, but no pass or fail mechanic, just grinding monster to level up your equipment (or being given and/or buying from someone else that did the work for you via trading Interactive Worlds style).
Most importantly, this removes all of the item bloat of all of the different scrolls making Interactive Worlds more approachable for new and returning players while turning the system entirely into a passive one, all you need to do is star force your equipment.
Bonus Potential Rework becomes Mirror Potential:
Mirror Potential would be this:
Whatever you have for your 2 or 3 lines would be the same 2 or 3 lines, but not in potency, just in same stat; example being you have 2 stat % lines and 1 cooldown reduction line, the mirror potential on that equipment would also be 2 stat % lines and 1 cooldown reduction line (some lines might be 0 if they fall below a certain minimum investment, like cooldown reduction needs to be legendary on Mirror Potential too).
To upgrade your Mirror Potential to be stronger you roll for a chance by paying either Spell Traces or Mesos per attempt. Once upgraded, it cannot downgrade to a lower value, each attempt can only make Mirror Potential equal or stronger than where it was before, up to a hard cap (i.e. Rare / Epic / Unique / Legendary, always starting at Rare.).
The other cap is a soft cap where Mirror Potential's rank cannot exceed the Main Potential's current rank; example is Main Potential is Unique status so Mirror Potential can go up to Unique status until the equipment's Main Potential ranks up to Legendary.
Mirror Potential's power is meant to be roughly equivalent to Bonus Potential.
The goal here is to make the game better for new and returning players by removing items from the game like Bonus Cubes and try to simplify the system with an almost passive-like system where the player mostly only needs to worry about cubing their Main Potential and then upgrade their Mirror Potential with the simplicity of either spell traces or mesos (for clarity, this is both can be used, but you choose between either attempting the potential rank up with either spell trace cost or mesos cost).
