Try to make this brief, it is a good start of a concept, yet does not feel worth doing and will burn players out that try to maximize this system.
INSTEAD change the system to this:
~ Reduce maximum harvesting time from 8 hours to 2 hours, you acquire harvesting materials at 4x the rate. This means, capping out the time gives the same daily rewards amount as it does now.
~ Daily quests for the system, in total, will reduce the time it takes by 50%. This means, you only need to wait out 1 hour of time if you did all 3 daily missions.
These changes are very important to help casual players with limited time on their hands to actually benefit from the system. You still get the daily log in and engagement, but by compressing the time to get full rewards it further boosts the incentive for players to log in and stay on for the full time since it will feel worth doing.
When the time is to spread out, most players will ignore the system, and then more and more people will fall away as time goes on and it will just end up being a dead system eventually.
Instead of having a bunch of dead systems, try to make all of the systems actually worth doing for players and properly support them. Make the game something people want to waste their time on, not make the player waste their time on the game.
Further add: More variety for the daily missions for differing playstyles.
Given the above, there be something like 10 daily missions instead of just 3, but you don't need to do all of the missions to reach maximum harvesting speed.
Examples of missions:
1. Kill 2,000 monsters near your level.
2. Kill 4,000 monsters near your level. (2,000 more from 2,000 monster kills)
3. Kill 6,000 monsters near your level. (2,000 more from 4,000 monster kills)
4. Kill 1 Weekly Boss.
5. Kill 3 Daily Bosses.
6. Do Monster Park at least 1 time.
7. Do Maple Tour at least 1 time.
8. Kill Ursus 3 times.
9. Kill Gollux on the hardest difficulty 1 time.
10. Kill 1,000 monsters inside of Guild Castle's Cache.
Regardless of the mission, each mission makes you harvest materials 25% faster, up to a hard cap of 100% faster. This means, once 4 missions are complete, you can get max rewards in half the time!
OR Alternatively, you just bring back the flowers and rocks to hunting maps.
Comments
although you got a few point there
1.RESPONSE TO YOU
8 hours is indeed way too long depending on what time of the day you can play..your 2 hours suggestion seem fine if take into consideration the harvest time reduction buff
...the amount of material was likely already plan to be adjusted at a solid rate later......but if that was their finaly amount plan then thats quite awful..make it 6-8X current amount actually
2.WANTS
let us to choose to clear 3 weekly bosses or 3 dailies bosses insteads of just dailies bosses
add an auto-activate the buff once any of the 3 tasks is completed instead of having to remember to manually click it
adding a notification that the harvest is complete would be nice.....like how bout raining crystal shards or flower petals on our screen for like 30 seconds after the harvest is completed ?...a nice little animation to go with the system would be quite neat
3.MODIFICATIONS
add Tooltip next to the Mines/Garden type to tell us what type of Ore or Herbs we're getting out of each....(not all of us got a pristine memory)
4.OTHERS(unrelated to the auto-harvest system but related to crafting material
Mini-Event: Defeat 300 Plants or Rock monsters to receive a large quantity of crafting material of X type(once per month)
Crafting Material Storage(more convenient than having to go trough all characters bags to find what ya need)
I don't do "content" where i have to leave my game open even when i'm not playing. guess i'll just go to ardentmill and do this myself during the times i actually feel like playing the game...
when we had minerals and plants spawning on maps, we could actually feel like we were doing something.
the direction of the game is rather lazy imo. i understand this new system might be convenient for players who spend hours and hours training, but it just adds to the feeling that this game is moving further and further from its roots as a game where you could be adventurous and actually do things
I would rather have the rocks and flowers be on the training maps again.
i would too at this point. or a more direct quest to obtain pouches / materials
sorry if my original reply came off aggressive lol, it was directed toward nexon not you
Or make doing daily quests for this cut the time in half, making the reduction more extreme will feel like you got the rewards for doing the daily quests.
