This content would be for players that like to boss and really want to push past their limits with a solo-only challenge that is harder than the hardest difficulty of that boss, HP value scaled to be realistic to solo.
~ Challenge mode is completely independent to regular bossing for that week/month, so clears by Challenge Mode or Regular Mode won't lock you out of either for that week/month.
~ In challenge mode, there will be no true time limit, just a timer that ticks up instead of down.
- There will be a leaderboard for best times that week, leaderboard resets with weekly boss reset time.
- Each job has their own separate leaderboard.
~ You can run and clear the boss an infinite amount of times.
~ There is only one type of reward for clearing, no other rewards exist.
- This is another way to get Pitch and Brilliant Equipment, based on what boss(es) you have done. You can only get the item that the boss can drop.
~ Interactive and Heroic can acquire the reward in different ways:
: Interactive Worlds get a guaranteed version of that equipment for the boss they ran for being top 10 in placement for that week on that job.
: Heroic Worlds is entirely time and chance based and get the reward box immediately on every clear, if they get one that run.
- This is a way for Heroic Worlds to grind out Pitch / Brilliant equipment.
- How it works is that every 1 minute that goes up decreases the chance to get the box item with the equipment inside by 2%, starting at 110% chance (so 100% chance if you kill it within the first 5 minutes), going all the way down to 0% chance to acquire a box after 55+ minutes.
- Once the box is obtained, you either have a 10% or 5% chance to acquire a Pitch item, half chance for a Brilliant item (Brilliant items is for setting up the long term future).
~ For bosses with multiple of these types of items, like Lotus, will be Challenge Mode based on Hard will offer Berserk and Challenge Mode based on Extreme will offer Total Control, with no overlap.
- Further clarity, things like Genesis Badge is based on Hard Black Mage for the Challenge Mode. It will be based on the first difficulty to offer that particular super rare item.
Heroic Worlds Bossing Rewards:
Turn every drop to be client side, including boss crystals always give their full mesos sell value no matter the party size, for Heroic Worlds.
Not discouraging people from party play is very important and helps people play and play more with others to interact with.
Interactive Worlds has an economy system to worry about, so not sure what could be done here. Since Heroic Worlds has no economy system, this is a very safe change to make that benefits the players.
This is of course all in addition to what we already have.
With this, we can safely make bossing easier and more importantly a lot more enjoyable with a sweaty player mode implemented, getting more people into bossing for the first time, to boss every week without burnout, boss together more often, and not worry about having strong support skills at all since there is the hardest difficulty to really push sweaty players that can only be soloed.
Maybe a party play version can be implemented as well with its own balance metrics, but that would only be feasible with strong supports for the first time in Maple history.
