Sweetwater Totem (A "Legacy Gap" Solution)

Disclaimer: The idea operates under the assumption that KMS will not allow GMS to modify the Badge Slot or add alternatives to it. This means Genesis Badge will remain as the only obtainable BIS Badge in GMS. It also means that "Just add Potential to Genesis" is not an option. I propose the following:

Sweetwater Totem
Type: Totem
Required Level: 160
Number of Upgrades: 2
Starforce: Available
Potential: Available

Available for purchase from Javert in "Trading Post"
Cost: 600 Denaro

NOTE: When the Sweetwater Totem is equipped, the following items cannot be equipped at the same time: Sengoku Hakase Badge, Ghost Ship Exorcist Badge

* * *
This would achieve the following:

1. Genesis Badge remains the BiS obtainable badge
2. Allows players without a Legacy badge to obtain similar damage gains as those with a Legacy badge
3. Does not allow Legacy badge players to expand the Legacy gap further
4. Requires minimal development resources from Team GMS, since Commerci content is already in the game

The fact that GMS has 3 "Totem" slots allows it to provide flexible solutions to the "Legacy Gap" problem. I know this solution is not perfect, but given the circumstances i believe it really could work

Thoughts?

I love this idea as it still preserves the status power of Genesis Badge assuming GMS cannot have a different badge and throw off the not the "balance" but the code when KMS does things to theirs and ours doesn't match. I'm wondering they would have basical stats and what it would be classified for scrolling since Accessory Scrolls don't affect shoulders or badges. I know importance how broken stat wise the pottable badge is, but I wonder what it would do Legacy Totems that aren't FZ or CoR. Having newer items that powercreep the older items is fine in this case.

Assuming Sweetwater Totem is in, the Genesis Badge would be a no brainer, but something has to be done to the Misty Island Totem. IDK how Darkness Totems stack up to the Hunter Totem, but I am hoping the new BiS setup is actually obtainable.

That's an interesting question about scrolling; Do accessory scrolls work with the existing badges? I think the totem should be the same stats/scrolling as whatever those items got.

Yea, there would be some complications with existing totems. I see these as relatively minor however. I could see people switching out totems depending on what content they are participating in, similar to rings. If you are training or selling service you would have the Frenzy Totem or Chains of Resentment on, and might swap those out for bossing depending on what else you have. Bringing back Misty Island at a consistent pace could be an option (the unavailability of the Misty Totem flames is quite ridiculous imo). Possibly adding Misty as permanent content? There might also be concerns about completely invalidating Afterlands for some people. But in general, i think there will be a lot of options for people depending on where they are at. There might be a few players who end up invalidating their doom totems or something, but overall it should bridge the gap for more people and not cause anyone to lose anything substantial

Oh nice! I didn't see it. Great minds think alike? Admittedly, its a bit difficult for me to get a grasp of your post as there is a lot of information and sounds a bit complex. I think the key component should be equalizing the stat with existing Legacy badges without widening the gap

new badge to match legacy badge
new totems to match legacy totems

not totems to match the badge XD

about my thread in simple i offered that boss drop totems, + an alternative to bring back old event if ppl didn't like the idea of bosses dropping totems
a second alternative would be to buy new totems with legion coins for a hefty price

also i just had to give a descriptions of each totem appearence because i like to design things i guess

I like the idea for a sweetwater item since transposing has been removed but It would be better if they would add a Sweetwater badge since there's a need for a useful badge other than the magnus one and the end game one.

Transposing wasn't removed but it was nerfed significantly. A Sweetwater Badge could be interesting, but under the assumption that it would not have potential, nor would it beat genesis badge (and have no valuable set effect), it would basically be a very very mid item at best, and wouldn't come close to bridging the gap created by Sengoku / Ghost Ship Badge
