This is a for fun post to make a concept for a new job for Classic World MapleStory involving a dedicated support job that for this concept will be a pirate support that involves musical gameplay in some way to form heals and/or buffs for the party.
This job concept will involve make your own support skill... you are a highly talented musical artist after all, you must wow the Maple World with your musical genius and creativity!
You will be a melee/short range based class with high mobility for Classic MapleStory standards.
NOTE: I will include up to 4th job as a more future proofing concept.
Job 0:
Making Music:
Passive: Performing 3 Note skills will form a buff for self and nearby party members for 30 seconds, based on the Notes that were played.
Playing a new song while a song is currently being played will remove the current song.
Job 1:
Rocking Slam:
Do a short lunge forward, slamming down with your instrument, dealing damage to up to 3 monsters.
This can be used in the air.
Rejuvenating Note:
Each Note will provide +5% HP healing every 0.5 second.
Prolonged Note:
Each Note will provide +15 Avoid, +50 and +15% Weapon Def, and +50 and +15% Magic Def.
Job 2:
Symbol Hop:
Passive: After jumping, jump again in the air to travel much faster and further horizontally.
Passive: Using Rocking Slam after performing a Symbol Hop will immediately slam down and cause the attack to critically strike.
Power Note:
Each Note will provide +20 Weapon and Magic Attack.
Gigantic Note:
Each Note will provide +15% increased max HP and MP.
Soothing Song:
Passive: While a song is active, grants those being affected 3% HP healing every 1 second and 10% increased healing from Potions and Skills.
Job 3:
Rocking Flames:
Toggle: While active, Rocking Slam and Rocking Slide will create a random colour of flames between Red, Yellow, Blue, or Green that will burn on the ground for the next 10 seconds, each dealing periodic damage to monster.
This applies as fire-elemental damage.
Red flames cause monsters to take 10% increased Final Damage.
Yellow flames cause monsters to move 50% slower and grant 10% more EXP.
Blue flames cause monsters to restore 1% MP whenever they get attacked for the attacker, executes grant 5% MP.
Green flames cause monsters to restore 1% HP whenever they get attacked for the attacker, executes grant 5% HP.
Rocking Slide:
Slide on the ground forward, dealing damage to up to 6 monsters and shoving them with you.
Encore Song:
Upon using this skill, you can play an additional song for the next 30 seconds without removing the current song being played, the next 3 Notes played will perform the Encore Song.
Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Cleansing Note:
This will cleanse all abnormal status effects every 3, 2, or 1 second(s) depending on how many Notes were played.
Passive: Gain Abnormal Status Resistance and Elemental Resistance.
Job 4:
ROCK ON!!!:
Hold: Charge up your instrument and then release to play a powerful tune, the size and damage is dependent on how long the skill was charged for, dealing damage to up to 12 monsters around you.
Party members struck by this skill have a chance to gain an additional bonus Note at random for the remaining duration of the currently playing song, up to a maximum of 3 bonus Notes.
The longer this skill was charged for, the higher the chance of a bonus Note to occur.
The Grand Stage:
Toggle: Summon forth the grand stage to play on!
While summoned, you cannot move and ROCK ON!!! cannot be charged because it is always at full charge, the size of the skill is quadrupled, and has a 100% chance to provide a bonus Note to party members.
Each ROCK ON!!! MP Cost is significantly increased [within the high hundreds or low thousands] while The Grand Stage is summoned.
Bandmate:
Summon a Bandmate to play alongside you at random between Sally, Rick, Tom, or Cassy with a 10% chance to summon two Bandmates at the same time, for the next 240 seconds.
Each Bandmate will periodically attack monsters near you, Rick and Tom are melee attackers with stronger attacks, while Sally and Cassy are range attackers with weaker attacks.
Sally will play Rejuvenating Note around her for self and party members.
Rick will play Prolonged Note around him for self and party members.
Tom will play Power Note around him for self and party members.
Cassy will play Gigantic Note around her for self and party members.
Cooldown: 30 seconds.
