The sins of reduce Illium's flight duration, make the crystal gauge charge way slower, and making Longinus Spear not work with cooldown skip anymore just sucks the fun out of the class.

If you wanted to nerf the job, then just nerf the damage and make the fun aspects even more apparent! Instead of nerfing the fun out of the job.

Though in a player vs environment game like MapleStory, nerfs are never needed or justified outside of extreme outliers which there currently aren't any and have not been this way for years.


How to fix Illium and make him more fun, you can do whatever you want to his damage, but the gameplay is the important part:

Longinus Spear:
> Allow to be affected by cooldown reset effects again.

Cooldown skip is the most fun stat in the game and when things don't work with it when they should decreases the enjoyment and fun.

Crystal Skill - Wings of Glory:
> Duration increase to 30 seconds.
> New Aspect: Allow for the Elder Crystal to be active during Wings of Glory.
> New Skill: In addition to Winged Javelin, Radiant Orb becomes Winged Orb during Wings of Glory. Winged Orb still always "attacks" the Elder Crystal and applies its reaction skill.

Illium's fun is flying around, so flying around more will really cement Illium unique gameplay and main enjoyment out of the job, and the other part is allowing Elder Crystal to always be active has Illium always playing around his uniqueness.

Now I be fine if Illium more/less did the same damage between flight and non-flight since the fun in Illium is flying (and teleporting, also ball management) and as long as Illium can still kill things reasonably, the damage amount is whatever.


Crystal Skill - Resonance:
> Self and Party Healing beam increase to 30% HP every 1 second to struck party members and remains 10% HP every 1 second for self (because self is guaranteed the healing).
> Change to a Toggle Skill, duration becomes indefinite and consumes MP per second while active.
> Can be used whenever you want and is detached from the Energy Gauge.

Crystal Battery III:
> Increase to Passive: Charge 12 Magical Power every 1 second.

With Longinus Spear (6th Job) granting energy and with Chance to Skip Cooldowns, this is intended to be roughly less than 10 seconds downtime of not flying before Illium can fly again.

Flash Crystal Battery:
> Allow to be affected by cooldown reset effects again.
> Additional Effect: If used while in Wings of Glory, extends flight duration by +15 seconds and allows Crystal Skills to be used again.
> New Passive Addition: Every time a Reaction Skill is used, reduce Flash Crystal Battery's cooldown by 1 second.
